Canal-side rats and cluster flies off the common shape pest control in Berkhamsted, from High Street kitchens to Victorian roof voids.
Berkhamsted's long High Street of period buildings runs between the canal towpath and the open common above it. Rats work the water's edge and the enclosed yards serving the restaurants, cluster flies pour into hillside roof voids each autumn, and squirrels take Victorian loft timber. Sean handles Berkhamsted pest control himself, starting with a free inspection, prices from £90, a three-month guarantee and same-day response.

The Grand Union towpath and the enclosed service yards behind Berkhamsted's High Street restaurants give rats food and shelter in the same place, which keeps commercial call-outs constant.
Properties along the common edge and Kitsbury take heavy cluster fly loads each autumn as the insects look for overwintering shelter in roof voids and unheated top rooms.
the area's Victorian and Edwardian housing has roof timber that has moved with age, and grey squirrels exploit the resulting gaps at soffit and ridge level year after year.

Booking takes three steps

Sean identifies the species, finds the entry points and prices the job before anything is treated.
Approved products are applied and you get a written record of what was found, what was treated and what to change.
Every pest calls for a different playbook. Explore the 24 species we treat most often here — rodents, crawling and flying insects, birds and timber pests — each with a risk rating and the control method we use.
Rats breed rapidly, contaminate food and surfaces, and gnaw through wiring and pipes. A rat infestation poses serious health risks and can cause structural damage if left untreated.
Locally: Rats hold ground between the Grand Union towpath and the service yards behind the area's High Street restaurants.

Period High Street buildings, Victorian terraces and hillside houses each hold pests in different structures, and the canal side adds damp to the mix.
Proofing has to close the yard and the roof line together, because the area's rats come from the canal and its squirrels come off the common.
Bin yards behind the High Street and dense boundary planting on the common edge do most of the work for the pests.
Canal-side damp and period roof timber make beetle activity a real risk in older local properties.
High Street kitchens work to a hygiene rating, and rodent scent trails in cupboard voids undo a treatment quickly.
Cluster fly build-up, fouled insulation and nesting material leave the property under sealed containment.
Our office is open 08:00–18:00, and standby technicians answer emergency callouts through the night and over weekends. These are the areas we cover across the Hertfordshire — follow the links for the local team nearest you.

Pest control here works best when it’s timed to the local calendar. Here’s what our technicians see through the year, and the month to book each job so a small problem never becomes an infestation.
Wasp queens leave hibernation to start new nests in lofts and eaves, garden ants begin flying, and gulls and pigeons claim nesting ledges. Proofing roofs around Grand Union Canal towpath before nests establish is the cheapest fix of the area year.
Peak callout season in the area. Wasp nests reach full size, flies breed in bins within hours, and holiday travel pushes bed bug reports up sharply in flats and rentals around Ashlyns.
